Our journey begins with a look from the rear of the ISS, taking in the Canary Islands and the North Atlantic.

We continue northeast, where the lights of the Iberian Peninsula can be seen through the clouds, a bold cluster around the cities of Lisbon and Madrid.

We continue northeast over France, where Paris’ famed lights can be seen at the far right. Our journey ends over Germany and the countries of Western Europe.

I left Earth three times and found no other place to go.
